A city where the light of MEA shines bright.
In the heart of southwestern Haiti, where natural beauty meets great social challenges, Mission evangelique en Actions (M.E.A.) arrived in Jérémie with a clear vision: to bring hope, restoration, and opportunity through the Gospel and concrete action.
Our arrival in Jérémie was not by chance, but the result of prayer, faith, and unwavering commitment. M.E.A., driven by Christ’s love and a deep sense of mission, chose to plant a seed in this region rich in both spiritual and human potential. Under the leadership of Pastor Sameson, a man of profound faith and love for his people, we began a new chapter of our mission.
The first major step was the establishment of a local church, not just as a place of worship, but as a center for life, hope, and community. From its very first gatherings, the church became a refuge for many, a space where God’s Word is preached and lived, and where hearts are healed by divine love.
Pastor Sameson, together with his family, has become the face and heart of M.E.A. in Jérémie. Through tireless dedication, he has led children, youth, and adults spiritually—embodying our organization’s motto: “The Light of the People.”
Believing firmly that the future of Haiti is in the hands of its youth, M.E.A. invested heavily in programs for young people in Jérémie. We organized recreational activities, discipleship sessions, leadership training, and Bible studies aimed at strengthening faith, character, and a sense of purpose.
Many young people, once without direction or hope, now testify to how M.E.A. gave them a new path—awakening a desire to grow, serve, and positively impact their community.
With the help of the local community and by God's grace, we launched a Christian school that provides not only academic education, but also spiritual formation from an early age. Every child that walks through its doors receives more than just knowledge—they gain tools to transform their lives and uplift their nation.
For M.E.A., education is an act of faith. We believe that when a child knows the truth—both academically and spiritually—they can break the chains of poverty, ignorance, and hopelessness.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of Pastor Sameson and his family, who have been pillars of M.E.A.’s presence in Jérémie. Their devotion, hospitality, and living testimony reflect the heart of Christ and the mission spirit that defines us.
Thanks to them, M.E.A. is not just an organization in Jérémie—it is a family, a movement, and a channel of blessing for all.
The mission in Jérémie continues—guided by faith, moved by compassion, and sustained by those who believe in a better Haiti. In every sermon, every lesson, and every child’s smile, we are reminded why we are there: to be light, to be hope, to be action.
